yeah, when Cook said "you made it" it kinda felt like there was some sort of an accusation there/challenge. then at the same time it's like there's this weird power imbalance somehow, except that Cook is as vulnerable as anyone else there because then why else would he say "you made it"? something rly insecure/needy just underneath.
you're really good at creating this kind of thrilling kind of doomy/dready pit of yr stomach tension. and yeah, it's a bit about peer pressure but it kind of reminds me of novels about the 1920's where people were trying to cut themselves out of these predetermined roles or whatever but the more they rebel the more trapped in another way they seem. idk. i just rly liked that one. it was all 3-somey but deep too and made Effey seem all Daisy-like in a weird way, which i rly like. <3
