Game of Thrones is definitely disturbing! Is the book even more disturbing than what you've seen of the show? And re: The Borgias, it's exactly the kind of brother/sister dynamic that you like! I didn't think of that. I love their relationship so much. ♥
Oooh, that fic was tricky in places because with incest, you usually have to spend ages explaining why the characters are doing what they're doing and how they're dealing with the guilt, but with Shane I just didn't have to do that. But with Silas, I still had to show some hesitation and keep him in character, without making it seem like Shane was taking advantage. And I didn't want to just brush it off with a couple of lines, because that seemed less realistic, you know? But I also didn't see them having this big discussion about it. I felt like the line apparently it's impossible to be a morally decent Botwin and because right now he's pretty sure he might die if somebody doesn't touch his dick pretty much summed Silas up in this fic. He's just sort of giving in to a sexual urge, and he's sort of resigned to more fucked up things happening in his life.
With what Shane says, I sort of wanted it to be half-lighthearted and half-serious, like a moment where he is giving Silas the chance to say no, and acknowledging the weirdness of the situation - but still doing it in a Weeds kind of way.
