Feb. 13th, 2009 04:50 pmIn an attempt to distract myself, I watched the latest episode of Skins just now.
I see this season has reached the point where it makes my brain hurt. D: Skins always does this, I don't know what it is but at some point I'm always like, arrrrrrghhhh too much to think about, can't form more opinions!! Or maybe it's just the mood I'm in.
Anyway.
I love Effy and Pandora's friendship, although...I don't know, I feel like I shouldn't because it's obviously not very healthy. But then WHAT FRIENDSHIPS ARE, ON THIS SHOW. I loved them sleeping top-to-toe, and Pandora calling her beautiful. (Yeah, I ship them, okay.) And I will never tire of seeing Effy sleeping in Tony's bed. ♥
SPEAKING OF TONY, HE SHOULD'VE BEEN IN THIS EPISODE. If he doesn't come into the whole divorce thing AT ALL that's just weird and unfair and I'll be really upset. :(
Pandora's still pretty irritating but I'm glad she's got more of a character now. And I like everybody calling her 'Panda'. Also she has awesome boobs! Just throwing that out there. XD
You know after the whole Stonem parents blow-up, when Effy and Pandora were sitting at the table? Was it a Philip Larkin reference they made there? They fuck you up/they don't mean to/but they do. It is, isn't it? I'm too lazy to check. That was awesome though, I liked that scene. Even though it still weirds me out a little to see Effy cry.
Pandora's explanation of their friendship kind of made me lol and feel sad at the same time. And Katie is soooo annoying but I still can't quite bring myself to hate her, I have no idea why.
I enjoyed all the WTF faces about Pandora's Mum. And Effy's MISSIONARY WORK and ALL THE SEAMEN, that was genius.
Emily is so lovely. "I've never been to a pajama party before, so I brought vodka. Is that right?" = so cute. And I lol'd at the disapproving neighbour. I'm really liking Emily and Naomi together now, actually. When Pandora's Mum was talking about her ~thoughts on boys~ and Emily was all "yeah, ew, boys, disgusting" that amused me.
I'm SO GLAD they didn't use Katy Perry for the kissing scene like they did in the preview clip of it. I don't like Lily Allen either, but...srsly, good choice. Drugged-up!Naomi was adorable with her slight slurring and everything, and goddd she and Emily look so good together. The actual kiss scene was a bit boring for me because I saw the preview but JJ being all stunned in the background made me lol again. The two of them kissing on the bouncy castle was the best bit, so cute. I WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED AFTER KATIE SAW THEM, THOUGH. We need elaboration on that!
Oh, it's weird, I'm not like, totally crazy about the pairing, but I just...idk, it's sweet. I feel like through this, Emily's going to completely accept that she's gay and come out, and Naomi will be sort of unsure about the whole thing for a while, then get it on with Cook, be confused some more, and then realise she's bisexual. The relationship seems like it's a temporary thing for them both to come to terms with their sexuality, really, rather than a serious romance storyline. But that's just me guessing.
I still like the idea of Effy/Emily, and was actually momentarily considering Effy/Katie but I can't remember what scene made me think that. ALSO, just as an aside, I love the twins' voices, they're all sort of lispy and cute. I like Naomi's voice a lot too. Idk why.
I guess we're starting to see how Effy falls apart, already. It's...still weird. I like it and I CAN believe it but it's just weird, I don't know. I can cope with all the divorce stuff, but...I don't want her to be like, secretly in love with Freddie but ~scared of opening her heart~ so that's why she's having meaningless sex with Cook. I don't. That's boring. And Effy's not meant to be boring. Bleh.
I actually thought the scene with Pandora and Cook was really, really sweet, which is weird seeing as I still find him repulsive? But it was so cute. And the sex scene was done so well, too, I liked the way it zoomed in on her chest and Thomas's necklace and you could just hear her breathing. I didn't really feel bad about the whole thing, like...I didn't feel bad for Thomas, somehow. But I was like this last season when Sid and Michelle slept together, I was all "cool, okay," and then Cassie came back and it was like "NOOOOOOOOO!". It's like that feeling only kicks in when the character returns, because it happened like that this time too. Poor Thomas. :(
Hmm. I think that's all I have to say.
