YES. Like, the more stressful everything gets, the more they cling to each other, and then THINGS HAPPEN, which just ADDS to their need to get away. And they'd be all, idk, ~on the run~ and there'd be roadtrips and cheap motels and they'd, idk, grow facial hair and wear hats and glasses all the time so they weren't recognised.
