More Kills spam. I feel like I have so many things I want to post now, it's hard to split them up, haha. I want to post some Kills videos and some stuff to do with Jack White...particularly Jack/Alison which I've started to ship despite not wanting to. And Jack/Meg, because apparently whenever someone asks me on Formspring if I ship something, I start to. *sigh*

I love it when he pretends to shoot her. THAT IS AN ACTUAL THING I AM SAYING ABOUT THIS SHIP. THEY ARE RIDICULOUS.

The hair-pulling...is kind of my favourite. Maybe.

The best thing about this one is that I don't even think he's pulling her hair here, but she's so obedient anyway. /unhealthyloveforsubmissive!Alison

*cough* Just while we're on the subject of submissive!Alison...this is from the video for Tape Song, which they filmed themselves. It's a part where Alison is on her knees, bowing down and possibly barking like a dog. While Jamie films her. GOD DAMMIT, THESE ARE JUST FACTS THAT I AM STATING.

That video also contains this—Jamie playing clapping games with Jack White—and Alison being hot with guns, so it's worth watching.

*sigh* I can't even.

I love her face in this.

BUT NOT AS MUCH AS I LOVE IT IN THIS. It's so faux-guilty, like "I did something bad".

It's so interesting to me how Jamie seems to usually do this with his guitar at the end of performances, but it's not always between Alison's legs.

Sometimes she's in front of him but on her knees, sometimes she's lying down, sometimes she's pacing the stage, sometimes she's in a heap on the other side of the stage, etc. What does it meeeean? It means that I have watched too many Kills performances. *sigh*

A brief interruption for an interview quote:

Interviewer: Do you bicker?
Both: Yes.
Jamie: I mean, we spectacularly argue. Not frequently, but when it happens, it's pretty...pretty...cool. Yeah.
Interviewer: What's the longest you weren't talking to each other during the course of making this record?
Jamie: Oh no, we don't do that, we scream at each other, it's an opportunity to...but we've got this thing, now, oh, I wish you could see it but it doesn't work on radio. But we've got this thing where we agreed, like, (laughing) when we have a really spectacular argument, that we have this sort of card you play. Which is, you do this thing with your mouth where you sort of like pull your top lip up over your teeth, like a dog snarling. Like that. And you just go like that, (growls) when you're in the middle of an argument, and that's like...it takes you back to reality and you realise that, okay...to our separate corners, let's sort of like, make up.

First of all, is it just me, or does that sound like their bizarre version of having a safe word?? When things get too intense, they have a signal that makes them stop? Seriously. HOW ARE THEY EVEN REAL. And lol at the signal being SNARLING LIKE A DOG. What even. Also notable: Jamie's use of the word 'cool', the unfinished sentence 'it's an opportunity to...', and Alison's constant giggling in the background. And lol, I just realised that 'barking like a dog' is exactly what it looks like Alison is doing in that part of the 'Tape Song' video... Anyway, I uploaded the brief interview this is from here on Mediafire if you want to listen. XD

He's on his knees.

I'm just stating facts again...

No...words...

Is it me or is he always just a little bit more tense than her? Even when they both seem pretty uninhibited?

Also, I need more angry!Jamie in my life.

Lol, she totally looks like she's poledancing here. Not that I would object to that...

Have I ever mentioned how much I love how similar their heights are? I don't even know why, I guess I like how she can put her arm around his shoulders and it looks just as natural as the other way around.

There was that article that said Alison had dated Jefferson Hack (THE FATHER OF KATE MOSS'S DAUGHTER) and I finally found an actual picture of them together. With bonus Michael Stipe! (That is Jefferson Hack and Michael Stipe, right? I am really terrible at face recognition lately.)

Also, this, taken by Alison and helpfully labelled.

Cuuuute.

This is... ♥_♥ This is my new favourite thing in the world.

Did you know that before your Alison picspam I literally thought The Kills were boring annoying tuneless etc etc

And now ... well, I've found a good handful of songs I love and then there's them ...

What've you done?!?

Also Meg and Alison blows my brains. Factual.

WHAT. Well, I'm glad I could have some part in changing that point of view. ;)

Sometimes I just think, I'm going to keep posting about this until more people like it. AND SOMETIMES I SUCCEED.

Ughhh, YES. I never really paid much attention to the White Stripes for some reason, and now they're all I've been listening to for the past few days. I love Meg. ♥

The problem was that I saw them on Jools Holland's show, and the songs they played were "meh" to me. I recognised the hotness straight away, natch, but beyond that nothing. And now Black Balloon is just gorgeous <3

Also we clearly like the same quirks in people cos I loved it how she can put an arm round him too. Role reversal FTW!

I think that if certain people could write a fic about a certain lovely pair of ladies there would be some happy people around ...

And what do you think of Discount? I love them now too - your one post is going to cost me like £30 now.

Ah, well that makes sense. It's funny, I only liked a couple of songs at first, and got into them very very gradually, and now...I'm not sure there's a single song I don't like.

Yes! It's such a random thing to even notice but I just really love it. It makes them seem a lot more equal somehow.

Alison/Meg fic exists! There is this (http://community.livejournal.com/things_i_want/26951.html) lovely, melancholy story by [livejournal.com profile] weird_pairings_ called The Difference Between Us. :) I just re-read it and it's made me really want to write them. There's so much potential in this fandom, whatever it even is!!

To be honest, I haven't really given Discount a fair listen. I heard a song or two a while ago and was put off by how...punk-y they are, I guess? But I've been meaning to try them again, haha. I feel like if Alison is involved, there must be something there for me to love. XD

Discount totally rock. They're not too odd or too normal and her vocals are class. All three albums sound good from what I've sampled

I'll definitely give them a proper listen, then!

And sorry about the story, I didn't realise it was friendslocked! You'll have to join [livejournal.com profile] things_i_want - it's basically a comm for fic about anyone in The Dead Weather. :)

Oh, and I have just downloaded all their albums. And am in the process of listening to them.

God, that top picture. Alson's just ♥ ♥ ♥
So, I finally bowed to the inevitable and ordered Midnight Boom (for which I entirely blame you ;D). I'm so looking forward to it :D

Omg, they sort of do. I didn't notice that before. There is an interview somewhere where Jamie refers to Alison as his sister...lol.

I HAVE BEEN THINKING ABOUT THE WHOLE DOMINANT/SUBMISSIVE!ALISON THING. It's so difficult to pinpoint because she seems to be such a weird mixture of both. Like, sometimes it seems so clear that she's the submissive one, almost to the point where it seems to be an actual part of her personality. She's usually the one who is in the more conventionally submissive position. Even onstage, where she seems to become a stronger/more dominant person in general.

But then, she's the one who makes everything happen. It's like...she wants someone to dominate her, so she finds a way to make them do it, and by doing that she becomes the dominant one. So complicated! It does seem like she's leading him into it almost all the time, so that he is physically in control, but she's in control mentally and emotionally or something. It's like...the stage!sex for example, she's the one who has to initiate that. I've never seen Jamie push her down onto the ground or make her lean back or anything. If she doesn't want to do it, he ends up messing with his guitar on his own. (Lol, euphemism.)

That's why I find the other times so hot/interesting, I think, lol. When either Jamie isn't being urged on, or we don't see that part. Like in the Last Day of Magic video, or when he pulls her head back on stage, or whatever. But even in those instances, I imagine it was her idea or whatever in the beginning. Even if she's not explicitly telling him to do something, she's sort of manipulating him into it, like getting him to a stage where he lashes out or something.

Lol anyway, yes to the Shirley Manson similarities! And I'm so glad you agree with the safeword thing, haha. It's so weird but so them, in a way. And ugh, I want to know more about their arguments too. Whenever it's mentioned it seems to be more in the context of the music, like Jamie gets really angry if things aren't going right, musically, but they clearly have arguments about other things too.

Yes!! He just changes the direction of the sentence, lol. It's so telling. As is their instant and quite passionate response to the suggestion they might give each other the silent treatment, haha. They seem to think that would just be insane.

And, I talked about Jamie being more tense in my other comment, but yeah, I do think it's less to do with his actual feelings and more to do with his concerns about how things will be interpreted. I mean, he's clearly not THAT worried about that, considering the way they are together, but I've noticed it in a few ways. She's a lot more vocal about her love for him, for one thing. Like in those long quotes from their DVD where they talk about their relationship, he says "it's not like, a love story" whereas it doesn't even seem to enter into her mind to make that clarification.

And that's why it's so nice when he is more open about his love for her, whether vocally or by giving her a big hug on stage. :')

Edit: Omg I did not realise this comment was quite that long. Apologies! We do tend to ramble when it comes to these two...
