It may also explain what appeared to be a candid hint from William that his sexual preference runs into areas which Narnia author C.S. Lewis, as a committed Christian, might have found uncomfortable. One can only imagine the headlines had Daniel Radcliffe spoken with similar ambiguity.OMG. OMFG. This is from The Guardian, btw, which clearly I need to go out and buy tomorrow. I mean, The Guardian is pretty credible, so...like...but...what. *brain explodes* CAN'T PROCESS.
Moseley will not feature in any future Narnia sequels in anything more than a cameo role, and he doesn't have anything like Radcliffe's profile. If that allows him to express himself freely and with confidence, perhaps that's a blessing in disguise.
I mean, I have always been sure that he's gay, but I never, ever thought he would ever start saying anything about it for at least another five years. This is amazing. AMAZING, PEOPLE. BUT WE NEED MORE INFORMATION. THIS IS FAR TOO VAGUE.
I NEED TO CALM DOWN.
EDIT: CLEARLY I AM NOT CALMING DOWN ANY TIME SOON.
OKAY SO THIS JOURNALIST INTERVIEWED EVERYBODY AND THE INTERVIEW IS HERE. I HOPE THAT LINK WORKS.
He asks Will if he was jealous of the whole Susan/Caspian romance, and Will is like "Of who? Prince Caspian or Susan? You should probably..." and then the interviewer asks if maybe he would've liked to have had a romance with a female centaur, and Will says "a female centaur might not really be up my street".
!!
I can't figure this out. Those ARE the kind of things people say as a joke, and he doesn't put any particular stress on 'female' (nor 'centaur', lol) but there's something about the way he approaches it that makes me wonder. And Georgie is with him, and the way she looks at him is quite telling, she looks a little surprised like "wait, what's he doing?" like she would do if she thought he wasn't planning on being open about his sexuality or whatever.
COME ON PEOPLE, ANALYSE WITH ME.

Date: 2008-06-27 10:59 am (UTC)Also she's kind of quieter than usual? I feel like from what I know of Georgie, that she might have chipped in at any time during those questions if it had been any of the other guys. Or joined in on the joke, maybe. But she just sits there like "wut".
And it's okay to overanalyse things if we're all doing it! Haha. I feel comforted by the fact that other people noticed the Georgie thing too.
Yeah, I can definitely see a straight person joking about that, but not carrying on the joke that far and then getting slightly awkward about it afterwards the way he did. And (just to overanalyse again) I could see a straight person being like "Of who? Caspian, or Susan?" and laughing and stuff, but it's the way he said "You should probably..." as if he actually feels like the question needs clarification before he can answer it. AND, it's especially weird because I don't even think that's what the guy meant, he just meant "are you jealous that they got a romance storyline and you didn't?" kind of thing.
LOL yes, about Skandar, he was so not paying attention. It's weird, in all his other interviews he wasn't like that, but in this one he's so bored/angry/whatever. I really don't know why, hahaha.
WE CAN BE IN DENIAL ABOUT THE GIRLFRIEND THING TOGETHER. *CLINGS*

Date: 2008-06-30 11:36 am (UTC)BUT for some reason he decides to make this comment. Because like you said -- lol I didn't realise this bit -- if Will really thought the interviewer was asking who he was jealous of, he's either answering that he wants his character to make out with his sister or with a guy. Soooo, I think, basically, that it wasn't totally planned out on Will's part, but that maybe he sort of jumped at the chance to give a little hint about his sexuality there even though it wasn't demanded of the question. Does that make sense?
I kind of feel like that's how he's going to come out, if he does. *crosses fingers* I can't see him making a big sensationalist announcement, but I can see him making these little comments and maybe showing up to events with guys and stuff, until it's just sort of widely accepted OR he gets asked about it. OMG CLEARLY I HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT THIS EVEN MORE THAN YOU HAVE, WTF.
I'm intrigued about this little ficlet that you're sort of kind of writing. XD
