My laptop crashed last night and it made me realise how little I actually do in my free time, because I was basically lost without the internet. Luckily, my Skins DVD boxset (!!) had arrived like the day before, so I basically had a Skins marathon and watched like up until half way through 1x06. I KNOW, I NEED A LIFE.

Anyway, it was so much fun, it's been absolutely ages since I've seen those episodes. When the show started, a lot of people recommended it to me but I kept forgetting to watch, and then I saw the advert for 1x06 where Tony kisses Maxxie and I was like "...NEED TO WATCH." So in about four days I watched the previous episodes on like, Youtube I think, to catch up in time.

I never rewatched either season. I might've caught a repeat of an episode or two but really, I basically hardly remembered the earlier episodes. God, I miss manipulative-wanker!Tony. And Cassie, omg, aww. I miss them all now actually, haha, as much as I love the new generation.

It was really, really weird to go from that to the latest episode right away, though, haha.

First of all I just want to ramble a bit about my feelings on the whole new cast idea, because I don't think I ever really talked about that except maybe in a couple of comments here and there. I was really upset at first, but after a while I kind of accepted it and now I don't really see why people are rejecting the season so early. I mean, I miss the old cast like crazy and I wish we'd been able to see more of them, but I'm excited about the new cast too and I think it's just kind of silly to make judgements on the season without even watching a couple of episodes. Some people have said they won't even be watching and that just makes no sense to me. When you first started watching Season 1, you didn't know any of the characters, and you grew to love them. So this is what's happening here, except it's in a show which has a format and style that you already enjoy. That's how I feel, anyway.

Plus there's Effy, who has my UNDYING LOVE, so of course even if the season is awful I'll keep watching it for her. ♥

Also this has nothing to do with Skins, but if you read Jonas Brothers fic, do yourself a favour and read this. It's called 'The Brothers Who Were Turned Into Birds', by annakovsky and it's Joe/Nick and it's rated R. It's actually probably one of the best fics I've ever read, I wasn't sure about it at first but it just sort of kicks off and sucks you in and it's just that sort of delicious, painful angst that makes you hurt and want more at the same time. The writing's absolutely amazing, too. It's just. Nnngh. Read it.
